This week - February 4 - 10, 2007 - has been deemed National Consumer Protection Week. This year’s theme - Read Up and Reach Out - is designed to encourage consumers to get educated about the issues affecting their rights and continued well-being. Education can help you avoid a scam, protect your hard-earned money, know your rights and prevail against unscrupulous creditors and business entities with questionable business practices.
Throughout the week I’ll be posting articles about NCPW-related issues, including tips on how you can be a more informed consumer. Why not take a few moments this week to educate yourself, and protect yourself and your family?
A good place to start: the US government’s Consumer website, which has created a dedicated website for NCPW, found here.
